Beverly Gould, 4202 S. 175th, Seattle, Wash. 98188
Editor Note: Ms. Gould, another newcomer,to WFRB and welcome. Bennington Vermont was formed 1779 as an original county but Shaftesbury was in existence since 1763, two years after William Wells was born. The people from this area came from Mass. and Conn. Birth, Marriage and death records from ca 1760 are on file in the office of Secy. of State Div. of Vital Records, State House, Montepelier, Vt. 05601. I would write and see what they have for Wells of Shaftesbury. Have you located William Wells on any other census other than the 1790 Arlington, Vt. where you say he had 3 daus. Mary not yet born. If you have anything else please send it and in the meantime we will do some searching from here to see what can be found.
