Sevier County, Tennessee - July 9, 1836 - George Wells aged 72 years, resided in Rowan County, state of North Carolina when he entered service the first of April 1781 together with his father as a volunteer in militia company commanded by Captain William Lopp of the N. C. militia for 3 months agst the tories. He lived in Rowan County until the close of the War when he moved to Chesterfield county, S. C.; from there to Kershaw County, S. C. then moved to Blount County, Tenn. thence to Sevier County. George Wells son of "Barnaba Welles", was born February 15, 1764 in Rowan Co., N.C. County of Fairfield, State of Conn. District of Stratford 30 July 1832 Gideon Wells aged 71, a resident of Bridgeport entered service under Lt. or Ensign William Hall for one year. Names sister Charity Seeley and Lyman Hall. Both of my brothers were in the service but one now dead (microfilm ends here)

Washington County, Pennsylvania - 29 January 1834 - Henry Wells aged 77 years, enlisted 1 Sept. 1776 (then being about 20 years and 4 months) under Capt. Carson & Lt. Eddy Polk Regt of Delaware Line . (gives a very lengthy and interesting account of his service and the times) He was born 16 May 1756 in Sussex County, Delaware lived in Sussex County, Delaware when called in service and where he lived until 1797 or 98 when he moved to Washington Co., Pa. to the place where he now lives. Neighbors Lewis Hewit, Isaac Leet, Wm. V. Leet, Wm. Wylie, James Orr Esq., John Wilson Esq. There is a man living in Greene Co., Pa. named Daniel Jones who served with me. My father was generally called Wales and it is possible that my name is spelled that way on the rolls but I have always been called Wells.

Hartford County, Conn. - East Windsor - 24 Sept. 1836 - widow Sarah Wells, aged 89 years surviving widow of Capt. hezekiah Wells late of town of East Windsor.

She was married to Hezekiah Wells at the house of her father Ansmi Trumbull in E. Windsor May 1770 by Rev. Thomas Potwine of North Parish. her husband died at E. Windsor 8 March 1817
