Wells, 71, a farmer, died at 3:00 Sunday morning at GarrardMemorial Hospital of injuries suffered July 3 when a horse he was riding fell on him. He was a member of the Fairview Christian Church and the Masonic and Odd Fellows Lodges. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois McCarty Wells; six daughters, Miss Ruth Wells, Garrard County, Mrs. Ray Hawkins, Chicago, Illinios, Mrs. Marguerite Maupin, Mrs. GenevaBarnes, Mrs. Horace Hendrickson, Cincinnati, Ohio; Mrs. Earl Nave, Paint Lick; a brother, P. W. Wells, Garrard County; five grandchildren.Funeral services were conducted at 3:30 pm (CDT) Tuesday at Fairview Christian Church by Rev. Robert Scott and H. J. Taylor. Burial was in the Lancaster Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles and Bradley Barnes, Ben Leavell, Charlie Green, James Henderson, Leonard Gragg, Honorary pallbearers were members of the Oddfellows and Masonic Lodges. Miller-Cox Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements..
