Carro G. (Jake) Wells, 84, retired farmer of Van Wert, died at 7:40 a.m. today at Van Wert County Hospital. He had been in ill health since suffering injuries when struck accidentally by an auto, about two years ago.
A son of Edgar R. and Jane (Hook) Wells, he was born Oct. 13, 1882, in Van Wert County. His wife, Angela, whom he married Dec. 25, 1906, died in 1949.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Allen of Moriarity, N. M., two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was an uncle of Mrs. Dale Ackom of Rt. 4, and Russell Wells of Sibley St. A brother is deceased.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Brickner Funeral Home and burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday (cut off)
