Editor note: I found no Goodamoot in the 1800 or 1810 Ontario County, N.Y. census (Cautaugaurus County 1808 from Genesee which was formed 1802 from Ontario County). On the 1800 Columbia County, N. Y. census was Jacob and John F. Goodemont which was the closest thing to your Goodamoot on the census. On the 1800 Ontario County census were Benjamin, Cromwell, John and Joseph Wells. Will you -send what census and other records you do have on your Wells family in Michigan. How did you know that Eliza Jane's father was named James and her mother was Goodamoot?
