Wells, which occurred this morning, the 22nd inst. At 2 o’clock. Funeral services will be held towmorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at the M.E. Church, South conducted by Rev. M.N. Waldrip and the remains will be interred in the K.P. Cemetery. Miss Meta was loved by all who knew her and her death has cast a gloom over the community and the sorrowing family have the sympathy of all in their sad affliction.   Meta Carlton Wells was born in Russellville, Ark. July 31st, 1890. She came with her parents, J.W. and Maggie Wells, to Bentonville, Ark. in 1895. She was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal Church, South August 3rd, 1902. Meta was a model Christian in the home, always reading the scriptures at time of family prayers. Being gifted in elocution and having been trained by her parents in the meaning of the scriptures and knowing them in an experimental way, it was a delight to hear her read them. Being loving in disposition, by grace divine, she seemed to have a heart o’er flowing with love for everyone. To her parents, brothers and sister she was a devoted unselfish daughter and sister. After a long period of severe affection which she bore meekly and submissively, her pain stricken body fell on sleep and she saw Him face to face on the morning of Thursday, September 2nd, 1904.   Born July 18, 1904, in Stephens, he was the son of John B. and Emma Rogers Wells. He was retired from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. He was a lifetime member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and he served 53 years with Columbia County Fair Association. He was a past president of Columbia County Farm Bureau and was a school bus driver for Village Public Schools. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Althea Thompson We lls; and a sister, Lois Wells Stewart.
  
  Survivors include a son, John Erastus Wells and his wife, Shirley, of El Dorado; two granddaughters, Debbie McAdams and her husband, Buddy, of El Dorado, and Karen Southall and her husband, Mark, of El Dorado; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Montana and Riley McAdams, and Ethan and Erin Southall.
  
  Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Rogers officiating.
  
  Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Magnolia.
  
  Pallbearers will be Don Rogers, Tommy Jacks, Joe Rogers, Roy Miller, Charles Black and Lanny Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Bennie Blount, Dalton Jacks and Ovelton Foster.
  
  Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
