  EAST PEORIA - Lois M. Wells, 68, of Springfield Road, Groveland, died at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at her residence. Born April 7, 1933, in Carlock to Earl and Beulah Stephens Dully, she married Ernest E. Wells on Oct. 4, 1952, in Morton. He survives.
  
  Also surviving are one daughter, Cheryl (and Wayne) Hartness of Peoria Heights; three sons, Michael of Morton, Mark (and Marilyn) of Groveland and Robert of East Peoria; five grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and three sisters, Imo (and Leo) Reich and Betty (and Ronald) Padgett, both of Morton, and Glenda (and John) Aberle of Washington. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Sue Wells in 1961; and two sisters.
  
  She was a charter member of Morton United Methodist church in Morton, where services will be at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Jeffrey Kelley will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ludwig Mortuary in Morton and one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Mackinaw City Cemetery in Mackinaw.

  She was born Feb. 24, 1917, in Bluffton to Daniel and Anna Sprenkle Nusbaum, who preceded her in death. Her husband of 44 years, Nelson E. "Pat" Wells, died Aug. 23, 1982.
  
  Mrs. Wells was a graduate of Bluffton High School. She had worked at Triplett Electric, Bluffton, before getting married. She and her husband farmed outside Bluffton until they moved to Wooster in 1959. She was primarily a homemaker and mother, but worked part-time as a baby sitter and at the Gift Corner, Wooster. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Wooster, she was a member of its Women's Circle, and served on several committees during the last 50 years.
  
  Survivors include two sons, Robert Wells, of Summerville, S.C., and Daniel Wells, of Portland, Ore.; seven grandchildren, John Ike, Patrick Ike, David Ike, Cindy Wells Wiktor, Cheryl Wells Patterson, Sarah Wells and Emily Wells; and seven great-grandchildren.
  
  She was preceded in death by a brother, Christian Nusbaum; a sister, Susan; and a daughter, Sara Wells Ike.
  
  Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Wooster. The Rev. Jeff Paschal will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
  
  Friends may call one hour prior to services Sunday at the church.

  Retired after 42 years, she worked as a secretary at Cooper Tire. She enjoyed antiquing, attending garage sales, sports of every kind, boating, skiing and spending time with her grandchildren. She had an incredible sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was overwhelmingly generous with her time and money, often helping people through hard times. She was a great listener who loved to sit with her children and grandchildren to just talk. She loved attending her grandchildren’s events and almost never missed a game or activity they were involved in. She was a woman of strong faith and spent a great deal of her time reading her Bible and listening to religious programs. She loved all animals, especially her dogs. She was a hard worker and felt her greatest accomplishment in life was raising four wonderful sons on her own. She was selfless and always put her family first.   She was a daughter to Clarence Robert and Mary Ellen (Veilkind) Hirn Sr. She married twice and they both survive her. Her first husband, Wesley G. Mann Sr., survives in Spencerville. On Oct. 10, 2002, she married Gregory A. Wells.
  
  Also surviving are seven children, Wesley G. Mann Jr., Spencerville, Lisa M. Goodrich, Elgin, Kevin L. Mann, Christina Moore, Angela (Jamie) Bruinooge, and Trease Wells, all MI, and Laura Wells, Defiance; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven siblings, C. Robert (Marie) Hirn Jr., Delphos, Joe (Toyoko) Hirn, Forest Park, Tom (Betty) Hirn, Lima, Gerald (Carol) Hirn, Ohio City, Maureen Hirn, Findlay, and Jim (Sandy) Hirn and Ted (Donna) Hirn, both Spencerville.
  
  Deceased are two brothers, Mike and infant Charles.
  
  She was a 1961 graduate of Spencerville High School. She worked in care of the elderly and was also at Roselawn Manor. She was a member of American Legion Post 191 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772 Auxiliary.
  
  Services are at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with Pastor Tom Shobe, officiating.
