    Hubert Edgar Wells, 79, Ford Street, Corbin, passed away Monday, June
    5, 2000 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.
    He was born October 1, 1920 in Whitley County to the late Henry and
    Susan Frances Miller Wells.
    He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was retired from
    the L&N Railroad as a carman. He belonged to First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Wells Cemetery
    at Gausdale.

    Lydia Faye Wells, 73, of Corbin passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Baptist Regional Medical Center.

    She was born November 19, 1935 at Lancaster, KY to the late Burnett Preston and Gladys Newby Preston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert E. Wells in 2000 and two sisters Freda Mae Preston of Lancaster and Phyllis Terrell of Muncy, IN.

    Lydia belonged to First Baptist Church in Corbin.

    She is survived by five children: Hubert Wells and wife Margaret of Georgetown, Anita Wells of Corbin, Doug King and wife Wanda of Paint Lick, Judy Begley and husband Thomas of Lancaster and Wesley King and wife Rochelle of Churubusco, IN; eight grandchildren: Eddie Wells, Jennifer Cox, Nicole Begley, Beth Castle, Amanda Baker, Treshanda King, Travis King and Josh King; twelve great grandchildren; three sisters: Edna Moore and Anna Allen of Richmond, IN and Alice Freehafer of Denver, CO.

    Lydia's funeral will be at 1 pm Tuesday at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at the Wells Cemetery at Gausdale.

    Visitation will be from 6 until 9 pm Monday at O'Neil Funeral Home.
