JERRY C. WELLS DIES IN WATERTOWN
On Friday evening of last week Jerry C. Wells, a native of Three Mile Bay, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George LaFlair, in Watertown, following a stroke which he suffered on Wednesday. Mr. Wells was born in the Town of Lyme, January 3, 1842, and had lived on a farm in that town until he retired three years ago and removed to Watertown to live with his daughter. His wife, Augusta Corey Wells, a native of Three Mile Bay died 36 years ago. Mr. Wells was an active member of Chaumont Lodge No. 172, F. & A. M., and was a member of the grange. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. George LaFlair, of Watertown; Mrs. Walter Putnam, of Chaumont, and Mrs. Charles Valley, of Pulaski. Two sons also survive, Harry Wells, of Watertown, and Brayton Wells, of Three Mile Bay. Funeral services were held from the LaFlair home Monday morning at eleven o'clock, and the body was placed in the vault. Interment will be made at Three Mile Bay in the spring.
