Mrs. Bert Maroney
Canton - Mrs. Bert Maroney, 83 died Tuesday (Oct. 31, 1972)at Canton Nursing Home. She had been a resident there for the past two years. She was the widow of Bert Maroney.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the O'Leary Funeral Home here with the Rev. William Hart, pastor of the United Methodist Church presiding. Burial was in the Grant Cemetery, Ebben, N.Y.
Mrs. Maroney is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Iola Northrup, Morley and Mrs. John (Ruth) Decker, Minneapolis, Minn.; several nieces and nephews.
She was born Sept. 19, 1889 at Claire, N.Y. a daughter of Alonso and Alberta Newman Wells. On June 4,1913, she married Ernest Dixson and took up residence in Ebben. Mr. Dixson died in 1925. She married Bert Maroney in 1932 and she and her husband ran a grocery store in Ebben until they retired in 1960. Mr. Maroney died in January, 1971.
