They owned a radio set. In the 1930 census the family name was indexed & transcribed incorrectly as ''Wills''. Wellses Mr. and Mrs. Henry D. Wells, 2504 Washington St., Davenport, will be honored at an open house Feb. 25 in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Friends and relatives may call from 1 to 4 p.m. at 2817 Stafford Blvd., Bettendorf. Miss Viola V. Leighton and Mr. Wells were married Feb. 24, 1923 in the parsonage of the Congregational church at Keokuk, Iowa. Mr. Wells was employed at Riverside Foundry, Bettendorf, until retiring in 1962. They are the parents of Mrs. Ralph Schwarz and Roger, both of Davenport; Mrs. Don Belless, California; Mrs. Don Ballard, Moline, and Mrs. Lee Goossen and Lewis, both of Bettendorf. There are 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His father took another wife and Grandpa [Henry] ran away and lived with other people (maybe relatives) This came from Roger [Wells]. He has Grandma Wells' Bible (he says and I hope so) but couldn't find it while I was there. I asked for him to photocopy it for us.'' Daniels is the surname given for his step-mother ''Nettie E. Daniels'' in the OneWorldTree pedigree at http://trees.ancestry.com/owt/person.aspx?pid=91387905. Did he go to live with his step-mother's family? Is this Dan family a mis-spelling of Daniels, which means this 1910 census record is a match for Henry Dewey Wells? 1920 census shows a Henry Wells divorced and living as a boarder in Keokuk. However, in the 1930 census (Davenport) Henry's age at first marriage was given as 28 years, which would belie the ''divorced'' status given him in the 1920 census.1
