Zebidee Wells
The 1850 Jefferson CO., TN. Census shows:
Zebidee Wells 32 b: TN
Mary Jane Wells 29 b: TN -
Mary E.Wells, Henry Wells, Catharine Wells, Adaline Wells, Lorenzo Wells
It looks likely that the two Wells sisters-Catherine & Adaline may have
married my two Travis brothers (Joseph & Milton).
I believe that due to the marriage dates, that they would be
abt. the correct age. I would appreciate any additional information from
anyone knowing of any of these families.
I have copies of the Jefferson CO, TN. marriage lisc.'s for
Joseph Travis, b. 1841 mar. Catherine Wells on Jan. 25, 1865 and,
Milton Travis, b. 1845 mar. Adaline Wells on March 12, 1865.
I have been told that Milton Travis went to Pike Co., AR. and filed for a
land deed there abt. 1862, and that he went back to TN. and married Adaline.
I have no actual proof of this....... EXCEPT that I have a copy of a land deed with the name of Milton Travis. There were
several Milton Travises running around the US abt. that time though! If my
Milton is the same as that of the one that filed the land grant in AR., then
I do not know if they lived in AR. or TN. most of their lives.

Zachariah Wells
b 1739-1745 in either MD or VA, d 1825 near Big Stone Gap,
VA. He married an Osborne (either Abigail, Elizabeth, or Mary Abigail) abt 1770
in Grayson Co., VA near present day Wise Co., VA. Parents, history, spouse's
name and her parentage needed. There are many cousins from this line
collaborating to unravel the mystery.

I am looking for any information regarding the Zachairah Wells who lived in Wise County, VA
in 1860. The children included: George W. age 10, Barna B., age 4, and a
couple of names I couldn't make out. Couldn't decipher the wifes name either. Living
next door was Barna B. age 30 and his wife Louisa J. age 24. ....This Barna B,
age 4, is the right age to be my great-grandfather, who married Elizabeth "Lizzie" C.
and had the following children: Idabell, Rosa Jane, Minnie A.,
Lonzo J., Charles E., Ollie G..
These people were also in Boyd County, Kentucky, Independence County, Arkansas,
and Oklahoma.

This would be the Zachariah J. Wells age 22 b: Grayson Co., in the 1850 census
(page 320, dwelling 391, family 391) who was living in Russell County, VA with wife
Marissa A. Wells 30 b: Franklin co.
Next door to Zachariah at dwelling 390, household 390 in 1860:

- Polly Wells 44 b: Bedford Co., VA
- Barney J. Wells 20 b: Grayson Co., VA laborer
- Margaret A. Wells 19 b: Grayson Co., VA
- Elma J. Wells 17 b: Grayson Co., VA
- Lavinia Wells 16 b: Grayson Co., VA
- Julia A. Wells 14 b: Grayson Co., VA
- Elizabeth M. Wells 09 b: Grayson Co., VA

The puzzle is, how is THIS Zachariah related to the others in Wise/Lee county, if at all?
Obviously he and Barney are children of George. Who were the parents of George?
