M. William Wells
m. Harriet Knight (1838 Center Twp., Greene Co., PA -
10/14/1918 Center Twp., Greene Co., PA). Children: Annie Wells (m. Granlee ?); James Wells
(b abt 1857); Francis Marion Wells (b 10/26/1860 m. Belle Lemmon 11/27/1886
Waynesboro, Greene Co., PA); and Thomas Wells (b. 1/1/1864).
Marble Wells
Civil War. A cousin has two charcoal drawings of scenes at
Andersonville Prison signed by Marble Wells. Believe one of his children to
be Horation Marble Wells, a Presbyterian Preacher, and great grandfather.
Is anyone familiar with this line?
Marble Wells enlisted 25 Mar 1864 from Pennsylvania.
He served in co "D" 50th Pennsylvania Infantry, was discharged as a Corporal and may also
have served in the 53rd Pennsylvania Infantry.
He is listed as having been at Andersonville with a note "Sent to Millen 31 Oct 1864"

Margaret Wells and Philip Linch
Margaret Wells was b. 03 Apr 1822 and d. 13 Mar 1900. Her husband was Philip Linch
(b. 25 Jul 1815; d. 30 May 1880). They were married on either 28 Sep or 03 Oct 1844.
Does anyone out there have her in their family tree or any further information on her line?
Margaret Elizabeth Wells and Albert Lorain Rogers
Margaret Elizabeth Wells was born in November 1849 in Indiana.
It is said that she was born in Vincennes, Indiana and that her
father was a Methodist minister. I have not been able to find a
Margaret Wells in the 1850 or 1860 census in Vincennes or one
with a father who was a minister. She moved to Hamilton County,
Ohio as a young girl to find work and married Albert Lorain Rogers
there on May 5, 1870. She died in Hamilton County, Ohio April 27, 1907.
I am tryng to find who her parents were.
Margaret Estella Wells, born 1867 in PA; died 1952 in Shinnston WV.
Looking for her ancestors. Appreciate any information.

name.

Martha Wells
nee Granger (ca 1785 VA - 1855 Dinwiddie Co., VA). Owned 475
acres Dinwiddie Co., VA. In her will she gives 100 acres to ea. of 3 sons:
Benjamin H. Wells (b ca 1820), Coleman Wells (ca 1815-1864), and James P. Wells (b ca 1823
Dinwiddie Co., VA). It also names 2 daus: Martha Wells (b ca 1825) and Mary M. Wells (b ca
1807). It also names 2 g-daus Virginia R. Hill and Manirva G. Hill. All of these
people are in the 1850 census in South Division of Dinwiddie Co., VA. I descend
from James P. Wells I am esp. interested in g-daus Hill.

Rowan County, N.C. Samuel Beck and Mary Wells moved to Wayne County, Ind in
1815. Who were her parents?

M1) a Mr. Gillette, and M2) Phillip Edloe Bacon in 1846 in Albermarle Co., VA.
Ch (from 1850 & 1860 censuses): Phillip Edloe Bacon (1847-1914), M L Bacon
(female) (b ca 1851), and William Overton Bacon (1856-1941). Mary & Phillip
divorced and Mary returned to Chemung Co., NY taking William with her. She d NY
1896 and is buried Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, NY. Parents were born in CT
(accord. to her death cert). William remained in NY, working for the Star
Gazette and married Jessie Lester (I think).
