Death cert. for my George
Aaron Sproul b. 1825/27 in Hawkins Co., TN only lists parents names as ? Sproul
and ? Wells. Would like to find out who these people were.
A. B. Wells
b: Cir 1826? of Richmond Virginia, father of Anna Katherine Wells b.,
21 Nov 1852 in Richmond Virginia, married to Wyndham Eugene Gary on
15 Oct 1872 in Richmond, VA. Mr. Gary was in the tobacco business in
Manchester Virginia as part of the Gary Brothers firm. Anna and Wyndham
removed to Henderson North Carolina after 1879. A. B. Wells is listed on the
1860 census of Henrico County, being of Richmond, Virginia. Source: Cyclopedia of
Eminent and Representative Men of the Carolinas of the Nineteenth Century,
Volume II., 1892, p. 511, ). Mr. Gary was married in 1872 to Miss Kate Wells,
daughter of A. B. Wells, of Richmond, Va., and nine children have blessed the union,

b: Cir 1775. We are from an Ontario/Quebec, Canada branch of the Wells family
and we are looking for a connection between us and an Abraham Wells. He
was from one of the New England states and explored/settled in the
Eastern Townships, Quebec sometime around 1798. We have no knowledge of
a spouse or children, as that is what we are looking for. We also have
no knowledge of a date of birth or death, but assuming that he was of a
healthy age for such an expedition, we believe he might have been born
around 1775.

and m. Nellie Tigner 1897; Nile Horace Wells b 2/2/1894 IA and m. Ida Caroline Omvig
1897; and one female living Wells who m. Thomas Burnett.

(G-mother) in IL had a
sister, Elizabeth Wells, and a brother, George Dudley Wells. Parents were both
doctors: Hal Prescott Wells (radiology) and Lillian Emma Alma Marie Wells (nee
Fuchs; general practice). Lived in midwest then travelled south to FL and then
north to NYC. His parents were George Albert Wells (fought in Indian Wars under
Custer, drummer in Civil War, and d. ae 80) and Solia Electra Prescott. Other
siblings?

m. Martha Eliza Bingham 3/22/1847 in Clinton Co., NY. His
obit gives age as 81 at death on 2/23/1907 at Veteran's Hospital in Orting, WA,
so birthdate between 1825 or 1826. Other docs show 1818 and 1828. May have been
b Clinton Co., NY or Franklin Co., MA. He removed w/ Martha to WI in 1859. Union
Army 1861 to 1864, re-enlisted, and served until end of the Civil War. Moved to
Coupville, WA abt 1880. Children: Angeline Wells, Marion Wells, Emily Wells, Calvin Everett Wells,
Lillion Wells, Albertine Belinda Wells, Eva F. Wells, Lional A. Wells, and Lola Pearl Wells. In search of
info leading to the correct birthdate and location for Alonzo Wells and the names of his
parents, siblings, and grandparents.

was b Ireland. Dau, Ann Matilda Sherman, b. 1846 Wellsville, OH and married
Thomas Martin Geary, had 7 children, one of which was my paternal grandmother.

Anne had a brother named Elegen McCloud. In search of information for parents and ancestry of Anne.
Anson Wells
b 1814 Rochester, NY d. 1899 in or near Mainesburg, Toga Co.,
PA. In Chemung Co., NY in 1840 & 1850 censuses; Tioga Co., NY in the 1860
census. Father b. MA and mother b. VT (per 1880 census). Married Charity ?
born 6/22/1817 and died 6/30/1893. Both are buried at Mainesburg, PA..
Children: Henry James Wells, Sarah Jane Wells, Frederick H. Wells,
Elizabeth "Eliza" Annette Wells, Elizabeth Mary Wells, Nelson Anson Wells,
and Harriet Lafrances Wells. Eliza married James Pollock.
Arabella Wells
married Lewis Gilbert, son of Ichabod and
Polly Gilbert (b. 1781). Arabella and Lewis had a son, Rufus Wells. Lewis' brother,
Sidney Wells, and wife, Adeline, adopted a son, Harry Wells. Harry had three
sons--Gilbert Wells, Fred Wells, and Albert Wells.
Arnett Brooks Wells
"...from the state of Ky. He was 41 or 42 years of age
when he died of cancer in the early 60's. He was the son of Lillie Mae Wells,
who died in 1977. Their family home was next door the KMI school. I know I have
a half brother named Marcus Brooks Wells, his mothers maiden name was Robuck.
His age should be in the early 50's now."
