Young Wells was very gallant in fight with the Indians, later Wells was Col. Wells in battle of "Tippecanoe". He saved the life of Floyd, his personal enemy. Floyd was retreating from Indians by foot & nearly exhausted. Wells gave him his horse & they escaped the Indians, who had been following Floyd.

Gen. John Adair (Adair Co.) was registrar of the land office in Frankfort, Ky. Capt. Wm Wells was Indian Agent, passed through that place, on his way to Washingotn City, attended by some Indians, one of which was, "Little Turtle"
