Departed this life, on Sunday evening, the 25th ultimo, (i.e. 25 Jul 1830) Colonel Samuel Wells, of St. Charles county, aged seventy years.

The services rendered to the country by Colonel Wells, in the character of a soldier and officer, are too well remembered (particularly by the people of Kentucky,) to be here repeated. He was during his residence in Kentucky a member of the Legislature of that State, for several years, and after his removal to this State, was a member of the Missouri Legislature.

Having lived a full "three score and ten years" he closed his eyes upon this world of turmoil and confusion, with a confident hope of meeting his God in peace. He has left a widow and eleven children, to lament his loss.
