  "William was baptized August 17, 1784, in Grainsby, Lincolnshire, England. He was a farm laborer in Grainsby for many years. According to his youngest son, Joseph Taylor, in "The Descendants of William Taylor", William worked for 21 years on a farm owned by a Mr. Harris
  (actually Mr. Haigh, the owner of Grainsby Hall).
  
  "Elizabeth was baptized July 27, 1783, in Laceby, Lincolnshire, England. She was the oldest girl of a family of six. Elizabeth married William December 26, 1803 (not December 24, as noted in the "Descendants") in the parish of North Thoresby.
  
  "Almost all of William and Elizabeth's 10 children came to the US. They all settled first in Cincinnati, Ohio, though most of them then moved elsewhere in the United States. The Taylors did very well in America.
  
  "We haven't been able to find out where William and Elizabeth lived in Cincinnati, but unfortunately Elizabeth didn't have long to enjoy life in the big city. She died of cholera July 1, 1849. She had only been sick for 13 hours. William died Sunday, June 19, 1859, of unknown cause. His funeral was held at his son John's home in Cincinnati."

  HOUSTON, Texas — U'Vonka Wells of Houston went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, in her residence in Houston. She was 45.
  
  Mrs. Wells was born Feb. 26, 1965, in Farrell to John Bryant and Claretta Hooks.
  
  Raised in the Shenango Valley, U'Vonka was a 1983 graduate of Sharon High School and received her nursing degree in 2000 from Raymond Walters College, University of Cincinnati, Blue Ash.
  
  In 1992, U'Vonka was united in holy matrimony with Anthony D. Wells; to this union was born a son, four-year-old Anthony Isaiah Wells.
  
  She worked at Herman Memorial T.I.R.R (The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research) Hospital in Houston.
  
  She joined Higher Ground Church, Cincinnati, and was a member since January 2001 of the Virginia D. Lewis Missionary Society.
  
  U'Vonka was always supportive of her brother's ministry and followed him during his many travels. In Cincinnati, she was active at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church and had many friends there.
  
  U'Vonka loved life and blessed many others with her beautiful spirit and smile. Her greatest joy was her son, Isaiah. She was a compassionate nurse, loving wife, beautiful daughter, faithful sister, favorite aunt, exceptional mother and strong woman of God.
  
  She was preceded in death by her father, John Bryant; her sister, Gwendolyn Teague; her grandmother, Rena Malloy; and her great-aunt, Emma Watson.
  
  She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her devoted husband, Anthony D. Wells; and her son, Anthony Isaiah, both at home; a stepdaughter, Ashley Mathews; a stepson, Quentin Mathews; her loving mother, Claretta Hooks, Cincinnati; her brothers, the Rev. Calvin J. Hooks and his wife Elder Deborah Hooks, Cincinnati; and Timothy Hooks, Sharon; a sister, Lenora Jones, Cincinnati; an aunt, Rosetta Wright, Farrell; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
  
  We will miss her, but we are secure in the knowledge that she is at home in her Father's house.
  
  Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to time of service Sept. 11, with a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. in Higher Ground Church Fellowship Center, Cincinnati. Rev. Hooks, U'Vonka's brother, was officiant. Interment was in Landmark Memorial Gardens, Cincinnati.
