This bible was owned by Mr. J. R. Jester, Columbia, SC. Inscriptions read: "John Wells Bible, bought in 1827", "I give this Bible to my daughter, Mrs. Sallie M. Perry, as a keepsake". Mr. J. R. Jester is the daughter of Sallie M. Perry who was the daughter of Sarah Mannering (Allen) Wells. The family resided in Spartanburg Co., South Carolina.
